Google analytics: get off, please!

As of July 1, 2023, Google Universal Analytics will be discontinued and replaced by Analytics 4 (GA4). Because the new system is structured completely differently, you should jump on the bandwagon quickly. This way, you can avoid the threat of data loss by making the switch.

Why switch to Analytics 4?

Google Universal Analytics will be discontinued as of 1 July 2023. For this reason, Google Universal Analytics will only be of limited use from next year. With good reason: GA4 is adapting to the stricter European data protection guidelines (GDPR). Swiss companies must also comply with these if they process personal data of people who are in the EU. Because GA4 works differently, data collected with Google Universal Analytics cannot be imported without technical conversion. The trick is therefore to run Google Universal Analytics and GA4 on parallel tracks. If, however, you wait until July 2023, the old Google Universal Analytics will be completely discontinued – and GA4 will still have no data at all. In order to preserve your data, however, you should jump on the train now to use the remaining transition period for the changeover.

How do I make the switch to Google Analytics 4?

It takes time to understand the new functionalities of Google Analytics 4 and to be able to fully use them for your own website or app. To help you do this quickly, we specialise in analysing event-based rather than session-based data. With over 20 successful migrations to Google Analytics 4 already under our belt, we know the new roadmap inside out.
